A Message from the Other Side: How to Allow the Unexpected

I did a reading this week with a beloved client of six years. She and I have done over 20 readings together, and at this point meeting with her feels more like play than work.

We’ll call this woman Rebecca.

Rebecca wasn’t a “woo-woo” person when I first met her, and working with someone like me was 100% out of her wheelhouse. But she was in a tough spot in life and desperately needed some guidance.

One of the things I love about working with Rebecca is her willingness to trust the process and surrender to the unknown.

A Message from the Other Side: Body Image

Recently I met with a client in her early 70s. We’ll call her Jane.

Jane’s energy was warm and inviting. She was a mother-hen-type who naturally cared for others. Jane’s passion was food. She owned a catering business, had been a culinary arts teacher and found great joy in feeding people.

Right off the bat, Jane proclaimed, “I’ve always had a weight issue, which is a problem because my passion is food.”

As her words landed, there was this hard stop in my body. It felt like hitting a brick wall.

A Reminder from the Other Side: Talking to Your Guides

Hello friends! It's been a loooong time since I've written you here, and I'm so glad to feel you on the other side of the screen.

I've been feeling quiet lately. I deactivated my social media at the beginning of the year and have taken a much-needed exhale. I took several months off work and tended to my heart and spirit.

In the quiet, there have been sweet things bubbling.

The Miracle Log: A Validation Round-Up

This post is a continuation of The Miracle Log series where I highlight real-life stories of miracles and synchronicity from client readings and from my own life.

When I first started doing readings, I was basically self-taught. I had experienced some strange and undeniable connections to the other side, and I felt like I was being all but dragged in the direction of sharing in this way. But because I didn’t have formal training (not really a college major for this line of work), I was wildly insecure about the whole process. I hated the idea of perhaps being “wrong” in something I shared, and I incessantly worried about clients making life decisions based on the messages I offered in readings. It felt like a lot of pressure.

So as you can imagine, the validations that came through in readings were always deeply meaningful to me. Validations are those moments of alignment and synchronicity when some bizarre thing I hear or say during a reading is confirmed as having meaning in a client’s life. I would anxiously await client emails after written readings (which was the only kind of reading I did in the beginning because it felt “safer” for me to channel alone and on my own terms), and I would revel in all the big and little ways that my words had resonated in their lives.

The Miracle Log: A Father's Guidance from the Other Side

This post is a continuation of The Miracle Log series where I highlight real-life stories of miracles and synchronicity from client readings and from my own life. The client name in this post has been changed to protect her privacy.

When I first met Maya, she was still very raw about her father’s recent passing. It had only been a few months since his transition, and she was eager to feel him near.

The Miracle Log: A Message From Maggie

Let me just say right now, you’re going to want to read this!

Over the last few weeks, Spirit has been inundating me with validations from clients and signs of synchronicity, and as I was feverishly scribbling them in my Miracle Log journal the other day, I had the grand realization that these are exactly the kinds of stories that deserve to be shared.

Why To Get a Reading (and Why I Get Them Too)

Why To Get a Reading (and Why I Get Them Too)

Since the new year, I’ve found myself revisiting all the readings I’ve gotten in the past few years. The palm reading I had in Bali. The angel reading I had just last year in Colorado. The medium readings I had a decade ago in California. The tarot reading I had when I first left Texas. There’s too many to list. One by one I’ve been digging through their messages and finding gems hidden right there in plain sight.

There's a Place We Hide Deep Dark Inside

I keep all my clients' readings. I rarely look back at them. But they feel like sacred texts, like portholes directly to the Divine, and so I neatly stack them in a safe corner of my computer with the reverence they deserve.

That being said I went back and read one today from a woman I hold very dear. She is a friend of my sister's who has become a friend of mine somewhere along the way, and she physically whooshed into my life this week like a glistening mirage. I'm still not sure she was real.

She holds the work we have done together in high regard, and for me that is deeply touching. Even though I've had brain orgasms in meditation and I've seen dead people and I've felt beings manipulating my own body, I still sometimes doubt my gifts. Still. (I know.)

Why Everyone Needs an Intuitive

Why Everyone Needs an Intuitive

Going to a psychic or intuitive for the first time can be daunting for some. There is an immense amount of noise in our culture and media that creates stigma and fear around this sort of thing. The Western world has only in the last few decades begun to embrace the more spiritual practices of the East, and even though more and more people now readily utilize acupuncture, yoga, meditation and other energetic modalities of healing and wellbeing, there is still much confusion and miseducation about the nature of Spirit and energy in our lives.
