After a total of nearly 20 hours of traveling Brian's older sister Dana finally made it to Espana!!! And might I say she looked amazing, with a pep in her step and ready to go, go, go.
I don't know what it is about Sunday arrivals at the Aerobus and rain, but it was the same kind of day when Tina arrived in February. No pasa nada!
So fun to have family see our little Spanish lives!
After we took Dana to the piso and let her get cleaned up, we set out for lunch at a place we have been meaning to go for a while called Els Quatre Gats. Lo and behold they're open on a Sunday. We go inside, sit down, open the menu and.... meat, meat, meat, and more meat. So we get up, walk out and set out walking again!
This patio place next to the Gothic Cathedral won out. Lots of veggies. :) And notice that the rain stopped? It was a BEAU-TI-FUL sunshiney day...
We were heading to the beach to find a sunny spot to drink some sangria after lunch and we stumbled upon this gem just around the corner from our house. I asked the guy in Spanish if it was a bar, and he kindly let me know it was a theater. Looks like a bar to me.
Isn't he cute? I LOVE this self-portrait... <3
Nothing like playing dominoes (one shy of a set by the way, haha!), a few beers and a LOT of laughter on Dana's first day in Barcelona.
The bar, ahem, I mean theater.
Afterward we wandered past our favorite little wine bar and showed Dana this church....
Then off to the port!
We finally found our sangria and a sunny spot for more lounging and laughing. We're enjoying a few days in Barcelona before heading off for our road trip down the coast on Thursday and I already foresee a LOT of silliness. My stomach hurts from laughing so much yesterday.
Adventurous Dana! Our new friend Mr. Lobster.
This pretty much sums it up. I love these happy little heads!
